What is The Best Time of Year to Sell on ebay?

If the item in question is a gift, early December is a good time. If it is an item directed at the final owner, December is not such a good time. People focus their time and $ on Christmas gifts.

Ah, but I am moving and that caused me to fast forward my auction schedule. I am trying to lighten my load. So I probably did not get top $ for a lot of my auctions.



This item only fetched $1.04 (plus $3.99 S&H.) I sold a similar item (not identical) on half.com earlier this year for $73.

Third email from scam artist.

The following email was sent with the heading "WHY SUCH BIG SILENT?"

"Hello how are you and your family ..well the payment has been deliver
to you since i dont here from you so kindly get back to me asap okay"

The Return of the Scam Artist

Second email from an obvious scammer responding to an ad for a couch and loveseat that I had posted on craigslist.

"Hello
How are you doing? am so sorry for my late response. my sister have
been sick since and will have taking her to two difference hospital
and i have been spent a lot of money for the sickness and at the end
of it she died yesterday evening that is the cause of my late
response.pls bear with me ,i just want to let you know that the
payment will be delivered to you on or b4 Monday morning pls because
i really need the item so i will want you to look out for the payment
when it get to you. i shall be waiting to read from you
soonest.regards....thanks alot"

Anatomy of a scam

I received this email from what I believe to be a confidence man. A scammer. He has a secretary who writes checks and a mover who scours the countryside for treasures and he wants used furniture?

"Hello,
Thanks very much for getting back to me ,I will like to tell you that
the payment would be sent by UPS courier company and the item will be
picked up as soon as you receive my payment,I will wait for the
payment to get cashed before i'd send my mover for the pick up.I
will like to tell you that i would be sending a check worth of $3850
covering the shipment of the item. and the money for the item should
be $385.As soon as certified check reaches you,have it cashed and
remove your money for the item and send the remaining fund to my
mover by western union money transfer.My shipper is also picking
some of my other items up for me in the same city of yours, so that is
why i need to give him that amount.I will like you to remove $100 for
your running around in getting the check cashed...pls let me know if i
can trust you on this..Regards"
